In San Francisco, nearly every couple is being accompanied by its own press corps, most of whom seem to have identified their subjects in advance. The procession echoes a familiar tradition, but rather than being trailed by a bridal party holding bouquets or carrying a veil, reporters have tape recorders, cameras and notepads as they track every move of the brides- and grooms-to-be.
